Colossians 3

Colossians 3:11

This is a reminder for me that no matter who I run across in this life, they all belong to God. It is so easy to forget that everyone on this planet came from God. Even though they may refuse Him now, I still must treat everyone with love and kindness and forgive them when they might make me mad. I have to daily remind myself of this so that I will do the right thing when I am in situations that come across my day. If I can show even my enemies the love that God has for His children, then perhaps God's love can flow through me and change someone's life. I pray I can be a constant light into this world.

Colossians 2

Colossians 2:13-14

Thank God for this truth! We have been forgiven and given a new slate. All the laws that were contrary to us fell away when our Savior was nailed to the cross!

Colossians

Colossians 21

A little reminder to us all that we have cause to celebrate life! There isnt anything in this world that can ever take away this truth!

Blessings, and Parables

Today's Reading:

Deuteronomy 33:1-29
Luke 13:1-22
Psalm 78:65-72
Proverbs 12:25

This mornings reading started with Moses blessing the peole of Israel. As I was reading this I could see the importance of our day to day obedience to God. The tribes that Moses talked about in Deuteronomy did what was expected of them by God, and they were blessed for it.

"Deuteronomy 26-27"
I like this passage of scripture because it reminds me that God will always be there for me to help me with my struggles in life. Really, who'm shall I fear?

The next portion of scripture that I read was Jesus telling people to repent of their sins. Jesus also gave the parable of the Barren Fig Tree. As I read the parable of the Fig tree, the thing that comes to mind is our salvation. If you are not living for God, you are not producing fruit, and therefor are nothing more than dead weight. Even though certain people may not be producing fruit, God still gives us the chance to come to Christ before we are judged. It is up to us however, and if not done in time, we will be punished.

A new journey begins.....

I want to try something new. I do not read my bible daily as I should, but I want to remedy this problem. After talking with a few friends, I have decided that I will read a couple of passages a day and write my thoughts on them within this blog. My hope is that I can use this blog to share my thoughts on the Word of God as I read through my devotions.

I would ask that you would share your viewpoints and your experiences as well! I want to stay connected to a family of believers so that I might draw strength through God's people when I need it the most. I look forward to seeing how this blog project turns out!

Godbless!
